Charlotte Carol is the author of Hade’s Daughter, who loves to write, usually different types of romance. Charlotte likes to think that she’s friendly, funny, and happy person. You will most likely find her reading, writing, eat chocolates, or goes to adventure somewhere (some of them at the same time!). She started her own blog last 2017 where you can read different things she wrote about.

Do you have any amazing stories about your fans? Any favorite fan stories?
“I love all my fans (to have fans of my books is amazing in itself), so any interaction I have with them is amazing! However, I have had a couple of people tell me that I am an inspiration to them, which was really nice to know – I am just a normal person so I never thought that I could be an inspiration to someone, and I love that I can be.
– Whenever they freak out when I reply to them or talk to them, that’s also amazing to me, as I never expected for people to love my books so much! I freak out over authors all the time, so to know someone feels the same about me is heartwarming.
– I’ve also had a couple of people wanting to use my characters in their books, which means a lot to me to know that someone out there loves my characters enough that they want to write with them!
– I love it as well whenever someone takes some time out of their day to make a cover for my books! I always get so excited seeing them!
– A girl made a video reviewing Hades’ Daughter (the version which was originally on Wattpad), and I didn’t stop smiling throughout the whole video! It was so sweet to actually hear and see one of my fans talking about it, and saying how they liked it!”
What’s your favorite thing about being a writer?
I love that I can escape into other worlds, and do things that are potentially impossible in the real world! I love that I can make people smile (and even laugh) with my worlds, and can help them escape if they’re having a bad day. I also love that it is a way for me to get messages out there that people may not know that are there reading it, but subconsciously it’s there (I probably wouldn’t be able to do that without the help of writing).
Who is your favorite character that you wrote?
It’s a tossup between two. It’s either her dad (who is a mixture of everyone in my crazy family) or, even though he was only a voice and had a minor part, Clive. His and Scar’s interactions were very fun to write.
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
It was always kind of there. I have written, in some way, pretty much my whole life. I started out with really simple short stories (which looking back were not the best!) however I found it fun! I have always loved to read, so when I stopped writing for a period of time, I was reading anyway so I was always learning and that meant when I decided that I wanted to start writing again a couple of years ago, my writing was a lot better than those simple stories I had started with. It still needed a bit of work, as I was still learning as I go. It first started as a sort of hobby, as at the time I was struggling with Anxiety, and it was an escape for me. I think it was only a year ago that I decided I wanted to pursue it as a job. Throughout my life, and my writing, I always wanted to be a writer, but I never thought that I was good enough, so I thought that I couldn’t. I thought I would be sending my manuscripts off to publishers and getting rejection after rejection back, so when I got the email asking about publishing Hades’ Daughter I was ecstatic. It showed that I was good enough, and my long-standing dream of being a writer was able to come true.
Do you have any fun facts about your book?
“- Reid wasn’t meant to be in the book. He was a surprise character. Before I started writing it I had planned for it to go another way. Even though he forced his way into the book, I would never go back and change it.
– The story that Bianca tells about Reid in Chapter 26 was not made up (however I did change a few things to make it suited to the book). I was Reid in that scenario. I went into a mirror maze with a friend and got stuck in the middle, only able to escape when the guy working there came in to point out the way.
– I got the idea when I was reading a book about a girl falling in love with the lord of the underworld. I wondered why it was always that way around, and wanted a story where it was the other way, so I wrote it.
– Although it is based off the Greek Gods, I wanted to make it my own world, so that meant I changed some of the myths so they were my own and added things such as Heaven/Hell and Demons (which are not in Greek Myths).”
Does writing energize or exhaust you?
I would say it mostly energizes me. When I’m writing I will lose track of time (writing into the early hours of the morning) and even when I stop my brain will be ticking over with ideas and thoughts about my writing. It exhausts me in the sense that I do it nearly every hour of the day, and into the night, so when I stop the tiredness catches up with me.
What is your favorite quote?
“If there is a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it!” – Toni Morrison. It’s so true!
Who do you say has inspired you the most?
I don’t have one specific person who has inspired me. It’s a mixture of people including family and friends, however, I would say J.K. Rowling inspires me. Not because of how big she is now, but the whole reason she started writing and how she incorporated it into her books. She didn’t let her battles stop her, and she got through them, and now look where she is. It gives hope to people out there who have battled with Mental Health that (quoting Dumbledore) “happiness can be found in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light”.
What advice do you have for aspiring authors out there?
Write! You’re only going to get good with practice. Don’t expect your first draft to be your best, it takes a lot of revisions and time for it to get to the point where it’s ready to be published. Everyone makes mistakes, so don’t worry if you find them – no-one is perfect. I find mistakes all the time. Don’t give up! It may take a couple of tries, but you’ll get there eventually. Know that it’s not all smooth-sailing and fun (although it is 99% of the time), it’s going to take a lot of work and not everyone will like it, but don’t let it dishearten you. Every writer gets rejections and negative reviews.
What’s your favorite part of your own book?
I have a couple that comes to mind.
– When Scarlett and Reid are training before she gets stabbed. This was one of my favorite scenes to write as it was a challenge. I had to play out the moves to try and find something which was doable (it was a lot of fun and laughs).
– Her dad making Reid cluck. In fact any scene her dad is being silly in.
Do you have a writing routine? If yes, what is it?
I kind of have a routine, it just depends on what I am doing that day. I wake up and catch up with the stuff I have missed (notifications and emails) and usually after that I get ready for the day. I will then start writing, and continue to write whenever I get a chance. I take breaks every now and then, continuing to do some admin whenever I need to. This continues until I decide I should go to bed.
Who is your favorite author and why?
C.L. Stone. I have read her books several times. I love them as I relate to the characters, and the prose is very easy to read – I can’t put the books down until I have finished them. Her books deal with issues that aren’t always talked about and are quite real as a result. Although, the genre she writes in is a kind of unusual one so it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s also one of the reasons I like her books so much. It’s a refreshing change.
What are you writing now?
I am currently working on the second book of The War of Fate series, but am also writing for my other books which are up on Wattpad whenever I get the chance.
What inspires you to write?
Knowing that my works could potentially make people happier or forget about their worries. It also helps me channel all of my thoughts and feelings. My experiences also help.
