Hey HowStuffWorks,

I was looking at your website just now, and I think I have a mutually awesome idea of how to expand it with (almost) zero time from you. If you’re interested.

I want to develop and market a “The HowStuffWorks App app” for you. For absolutely no charge.

A “HowStuffWorks app” can be a huge addition to your media empire, because it will engage with your audience in a powerful new way. A way that inherently leads to recurring traffic and recurring revenue. And most importantly, it will be a huge boost to your branding (only the really big platforms have apps/magazines).

Let me introduce myself. Me and my partner created the publishing company Blvnp Inc. (Blvnp.com) a while ago. And have already launched 2 magazines.

Life Hacks Magazine: Our test magazine that we use as a prototype for new ideas.

HighExistence Magazine: A magazine we created with HighExistence.com, a website that gets over 1,000,000 visitors a month.

Your platform basically already works just like an awesome Magazine. We will take the content that HowStuffWorks is already generating, and create a Magazine App out of it. So that we can engage with your readers on a much more consistent level. They will be able to read HowStuffWorks articles on their phones without an internet connection while waiting in line, in the bathroom, commuting, etc…

I’d be willing to get my company to do ALL of the work formatting the content, and coding the app on both Android and Apple (you already have all the content on your website), if you’d be willing to mention the magazine on your platform.

It would increase your branding, wouldn’t require any extra work from anyone at HowStuffWorks.com, and it would be a free revenue stream for you. 🙂

We would put up all the capital, and do all the up-front work and you get benefit from work you have already done in creating the awesome HowStuffWorks platform.

Are you interested?

Thank you
Garik

P.S. I spent a few minutes on the web to make this little bullet point list so I could be more convincing when I tell you that you should expand your app empire. 🙂

*There are over 1 BILLION devices running on the IOS system.

*Apple wants to provide it’s users with a faster search experience. So when their users do an internet search on their mobile devices (smartphone and tablet), the first thing that Apple displays is content provided from their apps, NOT the internet. And it’s likely Android will follow suit by the end of the year.

*In other words they want to give their users a faster experience (“Instant Gratification” get’s more and more ridiculous nowadays, lol). Which means they display data from their apps FIRST when people make searches, so that the phone doesn’t have to connect to the internet.

*Apple is also releasing Apple News (which they have been promoting very hardcore recently) on IOS 9. Which is an app where people get to browse through a newsfeed giving them news and information. Apple News will ALSO be taking data from other Apps before connecting to the internet.

*Which basically means if you can get an app that qualifies for those two VERY new features, then you’re going to get a lot more traffic from people just browsing around on their phone than apps that don’t qualify.

*Our magazine app already qualifies for those two features (that’s how we built it) because it doesn’t need to connect to the internet except when downloading a new issue.

*App results will appear when doing web search even if that app is not installed on their device (in other words the HowStuffWorks app will show up before the HowStuffWorks website and before all other websites when people search for content on their mobile device).

*The smartphone market (not even counting the tablet market) has officially outgrown the PC market. There are 1.75 billion smartphones compared to 1 billion computers as of 2014. And the smartphone market is growing faster still.

*People spend 86% of their time on Apps rather than the web when on a mobile device.

*60% of all traffic online is mobile as of 2014. This is why Google requires sites to be mobile ready.
*You probably already know that most traffic is Mobile, just by looking at your traffic statistics on HowStuffWorks.com.

*Mobile Browsers suck compared to Apps (people don’t like browsing the web on their phones compared to using their apps).

*Apps are easily promotable in “apple news” which Apple recently has been promoting hardcore.

*As stated before… it’s sexy and good for branding…
